I apologize for any confusion in my earlier responses. Dan Reynolds, the esteemed meteorologist known as “Doppler Dan,” passed away on February 23, 2025, at the age of 71. He dedicated over three decades to WTWO in Terre Haute, Indiana, starting in May 1993.
Throughout his 32-year tenure, Reynolds became an integral part of the WTWO weather team. His deep affection for the Terre Haute community was evident, as he consistently monitored its growth and development.
His passion, kindness, and humor left an indelible mark on both colleagues and viewers.
Reynolds played a pivotal role in mentoring newer anchors, sharing his vast knowledge and experience. His collaborations spanned numerous significant weather events, including tornado outbreaks and heavy snowstorms, where his expertise was invaluable.
Beyond his professional achievements, Reynolds was cherished for his quick wit and camaraderie. Colleagues fondly recall his ability to brighten the workplace, making every day enjoyable.
His passing is mourned by many, and his legacy continues to influence the WTWO community. As we remember Dan Reynolds, we honor a man who not only reported the weather but also warmed the hearts of those around him.
