Emotional Departure Emma Navarro waves Goodbye as she made her intention clear….
“I feel exposed” – Jessica Pegula gives thoughts on Coco Gauff, Emma Navarro, Aryna Sabalenka, shares hilarious verdict on tennis balls
Jessica Pegula recently participated in a fun tell-all Q&A session on her social media handle. The World No. 4 expressed some of her views on her peers like Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka, Emma Navarro and Madison Keys.
Pegula has enjoyed a late-season surge in the last few months. The American has won 18 of her last 22 matches — a run that dates back to her Canadian Open triumph in August. She finished runner-up at the US Open and the Cincinnati Open and has successfully qualified for the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Earlier on Tuesday, 15 October, Jessica Pegula interacted with her fans on Instagram via a Q&A session. One of them probed the 30-year-old on Coco Gauff’s previous assertions about her ‘brutal honesty’, to which she gave a hilarious response.
During the interaction, Pegula also insisted that her fellow American Emma Navarro was “very funny” and that World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka owned a considerable edge over her in their head-to-head meetings.
The USA’s top-ranked tennis player also took on the subject of the balls employed on the WTA Tour. She had been critical of the ‘lighter balls’ a few months ago but gave a rather nonchalant response this time around.
Pegula also tagged her good friend Madison Keys in her story response, following which the two players had a friendly exchange.
Jessica Pegula is in the midst of arguably her best season on the WTA Tour in 2024. She has accumulated a 38-18 win/loss record and picked up titles at the ecotrans Ladies Open and the Canadian Open, allowing her to qualify for the singles year-end championships for the third consecutive time.
Pegula reached the title match at the WTA Finals in Cancun, Mexico last year, where she was blanked 1-6, 0-6 by her archrival Iga Swiatek.
