Man City star cries and said ‘goodbye’to Guardiola with transfer to Real Madrid now’on track’sealed deal.

Paul Merson makes ‘massive’ prediction for Man City vs Newcastle.Manchester City have another big Premier League game ahead of them this weekend.

Following their dramatic 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium last weekend and their Carabao Cup victory over Watford on Tuesday, City will be taking on Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday. The Tyneside club are currently three points and five places below Pep Guardiola’s side in the league table.

Out of their five league games, Eddie Howe’s team have won three, drawn one and lost one, which came last weekend when they were beaten 3-1 by Fulham at Craven Cottage.

In comparison, City have won four and drawn one of their five opening games of the season, scoring more goals (13) than any other side in the division.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s showdown in Newcastle, one pundit has shared his thoughts on how this match could pan out. Paul Merson shares score prediction for Man City vs Newcastle

In a recent article for Sportskeeda where he previewed and predicted the scores for this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, Paul Merson said this about City’s trip to Newcastle.

He said: “This is a massive game for Newcastle at home, especially since they had a bad result last time around at Fulham.

“Before that trip to Craven Cottage, you’d have looked at the table and thought they’re decent with 10 points from four games.

“But it truly seems like an oversight now; I predicted them to lose against Fulham and that’s exactly what happened. “Honestly if we analyse Newcastle game-by-game, they’d have no points because they haven’t been good enough. They were well beaten by Fulham in the end, it was just a matter of time.

“If they play like that against Manchester City, they are going to get destroyed. Now if that happens, suddenly, they have a problem.

“Newcastle’s next three fixtures are away at Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion at home and Chelsea away – that’s not an easy run. That could end up looking like a really bad run, if they continue to play like this.

“Manchester City will miss Rodri. He’s the player who knits everyone together. I don’t see his absence becoming an immediate problem for City in the next few fixtures. But certainly, over the course of 50 games this season, it will take a toll. “Pep Guardiola and company should be fairly comfortable here though. I predict an easy win with a clean sheet. Newcastle 0-3 Manchester City.”

Who will be missing for City against Newcastle?

Even though Merson has backed the Manchester club to get a convincing victory in Tyneside this weekend, City will have some players missing for this particular match against Newcastle.

Specifically, the Blues will be without Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb for Saturday’s game.

This, therefore, could make it trickier for Guardiola and his players to secure a victory against the Toon. However, with Howe’s side being unable to keep a clean sheet in any of their league games so far this season, this mixed with City’s impressive goalscoring form could be a big factor in how the match pans out and where the points end up going. The injury bug is starting to bite Manchester City and it’s little surprise given the ever-increasing workload on players.Pep Guardiola’s side were forced to play just 48 hours after their gruelling 2-2 with Arsenal when they took on Watford on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup.

While City emerged from that game unscathed, they currently have four players sidelined including important midfield duo Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne.

Here is the latest news the injured stars ahead of City vs Newcastle and when they could be back in action.
