Strictly Come Dancing’s troubled times continue – as the celebrity and professional pairings have leaked.

Stars including Towie star Pete Wicks, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and DIY SOS icon Nick Knowles will begin their battle for the Glitterball trophy this very weekend.

And the launch show on Saturday night is supposed to be when the celebrities and their professional dancer partnerships are revealed for the first time.

However, leaks have already ruined the surprise – as reports have suggested what some pairings will be. Longtime fans of the reality ballroom competition have been eager to discover which celebrities will be paired with the professional dancers. And now a spoiler account on Reddit has allegedly leaked the entire line-up – sending some fans wild with happiness, but leaving others fuming that the surprise has been spoiled.

The leak has also suggested that three professional dancers have been benched for the 2024 season. The Mirror has opted not to share the alleged line-up, or trio of benched stars, while a BBC spokesperson said: “”the celebrity contestant and professional dancer pairings will be revealed (as usual) during the launch show airing on Sat 14th Sept at 19:20 on BBC One and BBC iplayer.” Strictly has been in turmoil for the past year as the series has been hit with a string of controversies.

Following the 2023 season, actress Amanda Abbington stepped forward to claim she suffered abuse at the hands of her professional dance partner, Giovanni Pernice – who denied her claims. She launched a complained against the show and attempted to obtain footage from rehearsals to back up her cliams. In light of her allegations, other celebrities and professionals stepped forward to question the behaviour of some of those working on the show. While Giovanni insisted he had committed no wrong while working on the show, he exited Strictly under a cloud of shame earlier this year.It was soon announced that fellow professional Graziano Di Prima would also not be returning for the 2024 season. He ultimately confessed he had kicked his 2023 celebrity partner Zara McDermott.

There have been suggestions that there is a “toxic” work environment at the long-running BBC show – and it has been suggested the scandal impacted the casting process for the upcoming new season. Stars taking part in the new season – which will be the 22nd but also the 20th anniversary of the show – include EastEnders’ Jamie Borthwick, Olympians Tom Dean and Sam Quek, JLS singer JB Gill, and chart icon Toyah Willcox.Olympic gold medalist Sam shared her excitement about taking part in the show earlier this month. She declared: “This is the perfect time for me. My kids are at the best age to get involved in it. And also, I can’t wait for the glow up.” Asked what she will look for in a dance partner, the star joked: “A load of patience. Likes a good lunch. Just up for a laugh. But be able to tell me, ‘Sam, concentrate now’, because sometimes I can get carried away.”

She also shared her fears about dancing in public, saying: “[It is] daunting. Presenting is one thing, but dancing, when you’re not a great dancer [it] is gonna be nerve wracking. Finger’s crossed for no wardrobe malfunctions, no one wants a nip slip.

” And sharing her hopes for the coming weeks, she said: “I would love to dance to Beauty and the Beast, because I’d love to wear that big Belle dress.”
