NFL Rumors: Jordan Love, Packers Agree to 4-Year, $220M Contract Extension with 2 conditions…..

After leading the Green Bay Packers to the playoffs this past season, quarterback Jordan Love has been rewarded with a new deal.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Love has agreed to a four-year contract worth $220 million on Friday. He previously had one year remaining on his contract that will pay him $12.7 million for the 2024 season, per Spotrac.

The deal includes a $75 million signing bonus and $155 million in full guarantees.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on April 14 that the Packers were expected to sign Love to a deal that would put him among the top 10 highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL, and while it took a few months to get a deal done, they did just that. Love even declared on July 22 that he wouldn’t practice or play in any games without a new deal, but his holdout didn’t last long before they reached the bank-breaking agreement.

A first-round pick by the Packers in 2020, Love spent the first three seasons of his career under the tutelage of Aaron Rodgers. After Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets, the 25-year-old took over as Green Bay’s starter for the 2023 season and he proved himself to be the team’s quarterback of the future.

Love overcame an up-and-down start to the season to finish with 32 touchdown passes, the second-highest total in the league behind only Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s 36. He ranked seventh with 4,159 yards while completing 64.2 percent of his passes with 11 interceptions.

In the postseason, Love threw three touchdowns in Green Bay’s upset win over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card Round. He threw two touchdowns and two interceptions in the team’s Divisional Round loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

With Love leading the way, the Packers appear to be in good hands. Green Bay had the youngest team in the league last season, so the experience of the playoff run will surely benefit Love and the other players as they continue to develop together.
